Open Enrollment Information
Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15, 2023 through December 7, 2023. (Coverage starts January 1, 2024)
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (for current enrollees ONLY) is from January 1, 2024 through March 31, 2024 (Coverage begins the first of the following month after your plan change)
Covered California Open Enrollment is from November 1, 2023 through January 15, 2024 (Enroll by December 15, 2023 to have your coverage begin January 1, 2024)
IMPORTANT OPEN ENROLLMENT NOTICE TO MERCY DOCTORS PATIENTS:
PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR DOCTOR IS IN-NETWORK BEFORE YOU SIGN UP WITH ANY INSURANCE.
Please note that your doctor and specialists may not participate in all health plans – ESPECIALLY HMO and Medicare Advantage plans.
Please know what you are buying: There is a difference between a Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO plan.
Medicare Advantage plans can have much smaller networks of doctors and specialists that you can see.
You can ONLY see doctors and specialists in your insurance plan’s network. If your doctor or specialist is not in network with your plan, neither Medicare nor your insurance will pay your bill and you could be responsible for all charges.
Please check with your prospective insurance carrier or insurance broker to make sure that your doctor and all your specialists are in network. If possible, have the insurance company provide you with written documentation (a printout from the insurance company’s website works).
For HMO plans, Mercy Doctors Medical Group Doctors are ONLY in network with the Hill Physicians (All Mercy Doctors doctors) and Brown and Toland HMO networks (Doctors Allison, Bricca, Bibal, and Olson).
Mercy Doctors Medical Group specifically DOES NOT participate in the following HMO networks:
AAMG (Asian American Medical Group or All-American Medical Group)
Affinity
Jade
Kaiser Permanente
Medi-Cal HMO
Meritage
Sutter (including Palo Alto Medical Foundation)
Any out of area HMOs
